Foot care (Fußpflege) is practiced in Austria as a licensed trade under § 94 Z 23 GewO 1994. The profession of 'Podologe/Podologin' as a regulated healthcare profession does NOT exist in Austria — the Wirtschaftskammer Österreich (WKO) confirms: 'Die sogenannte Medizinische Fußpflege gibt es als Begriff in Österreich nicht.' The general hygiene requirements of Anlage 1 ARFKMV apply: Hygieneplan, hand and surface disinfection, protective gloves, separate waste disposal. The UbN regime applies specifically to piercing/tattooing/PMU procedures — this requirement does NOT extend to pure Fußpflege businesses.
