Acupuncture in Austria is a physician-only activity — a Heilpraktiker profession does not exist (§ 2 Abs. 2 ÄrzteG 1998). Acupuncture practices are subject to the ÄK-Hygieneverordnung 2014 and MPBV. SecuSteri documents every sterilization cycle for cupping sets and reusable instruments.
Acupuncture in Austria is strictly reserved for physicians — § 2 Abs. 2 ÄrzteG 1998 reserves the practice of diagnostic and therapeutic activity (including acupuncture and TCM) to physicians. A Heilpraktiker profession as in Germany does NOT exist in Austria. Practitioners typically hold the ÖÄK-Diplom Akupunktur. The same hygiene and reprocessing obligations as for physician practices apply: ÄK-Hygieneverordnung 2014 (3rd amendment 2022), MPG 2021, and MPBV. Most acupuncture needles are single-use and sterile. For reusable instruments — cupping sets, gua sha tools, moxibustion holders — autoclave sterilization and documented traceability are mandatory.

Regulatory guides to help you understand your obligations.
Track reusable instrument sterilization
Log autoclave cycles for cupping sets, gua sha tools, and other reusable instruments. Single-use needles don't need tracking — but everything else does.
Complete traceability per session
Link sterilized instruments to specific autoclave cycles. Maintain a tamper-proof record alongside your patient files.
Simple enough for a solo practice
Most acupuncture practices are solo. SecuSteri is designed to be fast — import, sign, label in under a minute.
These instruments come pre-loaded when you create your account. You can add, edit, or remove instruments at any time.
Melag, W&H, Castellini, and Anthos reports are imported automatically via AutoReport or manual upload. Other brands? Upload the report or enter cycle data manually — we add automatic support progressively.
