The NVA (Dutch Association for Acupuncture, around 1,000 members), Zhong (Dutch Association for Traditional Chinese Medicine) and the KAB (Umbrella for Alternative Treatment Methods) confirm that acupuncturists fall under the Wkkgz as individual care providers — with verification obligations, complaints procedures and a disputes committee through the VWS-recognized Stichting Zorggeschil. Most acupuncture needles are modern disposables (factory-sterile with use-by date). For reusable instruments — cupping sets, gua sha scrapers, moxibustion holders — the general duty of care under Wkkgz Article 3 applies.
