Ordinul MS 1648/2024 requires that all instruments penetrating the skin must be either single-use and sterile, or sterilized before each use. Every tattoo studio must obtain a sanitary operating authorization from DSP, employ trained sterilization personnel, and maintain sterilization records for a minimum of 2 years. DSP inspectors can visit without notice. Non-compliance carries fines of 1,000–3,000 lei for individuals and 20,000–30,000 lei for legal entities.
