Piercing is regulated under the same 2008 decree as tattooing. All instruments entering the skin or in contact with mucous membranes must be sterile — either single-use or sterilized in an autoclave before each use. Jewelry supports must also be sterile. Studios must have a dedicated sterilization room, maintain a traceability record, and hold a valid hygiene certification.
