The Royal Decree mandates Class B autoclave sterilization for all piercing instruments and jewelry. SecuSteri documents every cycle — be ready for any inspection.
Piercing is regulated by the same Royal Decree of 25 November 2005 as tattooing. Jewelry must be sterilized in a Class B autoclave before each use. Sterile materials must be opened in front of the client. Practitioners must be approved by the Minister of Public Health after hygiene training. Approval can be suspended or withdrawn for non-compliance. Criminal penalties are the same as for tattooing: up to 3 years imprisonment and €4,000,000 in fines.
Royal Decree 25/11/2005 · Art. 37ter RD No. 78 of 10/11/1967 · Annex I, points 1-7 (hygiene) · Annex I, point 8 (earlobe piercing)
